The choice of your wedding reception venue is one of the keys to success for your wedding. Both wedding party and guests will be at the reception for at least a few hours. There is no doubt that a badly chosen reception site will ruin your wedding to some extent. In this article, we will focus on the ways to choose a venue for an indoor wedding.
You should book the venue as soon as you decide to get married. This is especially important for popular locations. You may need to book a year in advance in order to secure your wedding plan. If you are planning to hold your wedding on a Saturday, you may need to pay a higher fee, since Saturdays are so popular. On the other side of the coin, you may qualify for a discount if you your wedding for Friday or Sunday.
The scale of your wedding will also affect how you choose your reception venue. If you are planning a small wedding, a romantic restaurant or rustic pub may be a perfect choice for you. On the contrary, you will require a hotel ballroom or a large clubhouse if you anticipate a large number of guests. A small wedding can be more intimate, allowing you to spend more time with your guests.
Does the venue provide facilities such as parking? What about transportation arrangements? You may have to arrange for limos, rental cars, or taxis from the ceremony to the reception site.
When you consider the actual reception, you will need to consider space for dancing and a live band, if appropriate for your plans.
Does the venue provide catering services? If so, establish a price at the same time that you book the location. If the venue does not provide catering services, you will need to seek for catering services that can deliver to or work out of this location. Ideally, the caterer should have had experience with this particular venue.
You should try to visit the venue before you make your final decision. You cannot just rely on photos from bridal magazines or websites. You will certainly be disappointed if you choose the venue based purely on photos.
