How can you plan a romantic getaway when you're tired to the bone? The question then is not, 'Where should we go for a romantic escape?' - but 'Who really wants to plan a romantic escape?' ... and today's answer is: 'Not me! I'm too tired!' A change is as good as a holiday - but that does not mean that you have to travel hundreds of miles to find it. If all you have time and energy for is a single night away, think local. Most of us have never stayed in a nearby hotel or bed and breakfast inn. Many offer special romance packages just for adults - with champagne, flowers, couples' massage therapy, breakfast in bed, and two-person Jacuzzis ... All you need to do is pick up the phone (or get your personal assistant to do it for you). Make it memorable by arranging to have a limo transport you. Want to add a little excitement? Decide ahead of time to go in disguise. If you have a wig, wear it. Sunglasses? Those, too. Pay for the room in advance (cash, of course) and register as 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith.' It might take a little ingenuity to make the arrangements - but that is half the fun. ... and avoid the impulse to plan a 'kidnap getaway' - unless you really know what to pack for your partner ahead of time.
